Stamp Telegraph
Telegraph messaging service help make the United States the country it is today. If it were not for the telegraph the United States would not be the country it is today. That is a pretty bold statement but one that is true. The telegraph helped shape this great nation. It connected states and cities and helped usher in a new era of communication in this country.
The Western Union Company will always be remembered as the giant of telegraph messaging in the United States. Almost everyone over the age of 40 has had some experience with Western Union. It was not uncommon to receive a telegraph by Western Union during World War II.
Growing up, we often would send and receive money through Western Union. It was the first way to send money across the country and have it immediately available to someone. Receiving a telegram was a very incredible way to get a message.
In days gone past, during the war, it was usually bad news that one received. I can remember several times growing up where my parents helped me out by sending me money through Western Union. It was the only way to get money across the country the same day back then.
Today, the Internet has changed everything in our lives. Western Union no longer provides telegram service. It was a sad day in American history. There are still a few telegram messaging service companies available.

The telegram is still popular because it is hand delivered and includes detailed tracking information. The tracking information includes the time and date of delivery. It also documents the person receiving the telegram. It is used as a legal way to make sure someone receives information.

• Telegrams are a great way to say happy birthday.
The telegram is still alive and well. It is a very romantic way to send your message. If you want to surprise someone, send them a telegram.
